Gilbert Groove – 4/29/2020

There is so much we take for granted in our daily existence that it is easy to be forgetful of the little things. From the mundane drainage of the glory of life when the coffee has run out to the car battery slumbering and refusing to power your car. If I had a pet running amok, I would probably have stepped in its pool of pee to further rain on my parade. The world is on proverbial and virtual fire yet I find a guilt ridden pang that should not be in my vocabulary of late. Even enjoying small pleasures seems unwittingly decadent in the face of despair. It becomes poignantly to smile even as I scroll amid the daunting database of entertainment at my finger tips or the fridge that seems to be reproducing in the confines of its cold nest to taunt me with its calories and fat. Connected yet disconnected. Close proximity has become a barrier and even simple salutations a burden. Indeed the world has gone mad and is taking prisoners by the minute.

So release yourself for a moment in this kickback to the days of musical glory from a bygone era.
