Lo do I desire the timid steps into a faraway realm where the streets are a delightful maze and the language a mimicking cry of the Charlie Brown adults. My deteriorating taste buds are in rebellion for a reprise and a daring dive into unknown flavors and aromas. I want to be the conspicuous tourist ambling awkwardly about staring at signs and window shops like a lost puppy in search of refuge or a place to simply pee. I want to speak my acrid English to bewildered locals and fawn over the most mundane ornaments of the locality. I want to sweat with anxiety as I maneuver the transportation hive and arrive nowhere near my destination. I want to indulge in the national poison of choice and recklessly engage with strangers. I want to order something from the menu by the sheer deliciousness of the phonetic name and be surprised by remorse or giddy self gratitude. I want to feel that unnerving and invigorating sensation as I realize I am somewhere beyond my imagination and that I am but a small speck of life in a grand world of diversity. Oh the gift of travel! That elixir of experience! I am thirsty for you.
