Tokyo Myo͞ozik – 5/11/2020

A spartan lifestyle can do wonders for the soul and provide a moral compass to the important aspects of living. With so many hibernating socially, I am witness to a flurry of cleaning activities as people shed their materialistic skin and dump decades worth of collectives onto the street for pickup. What a grand garage sale mecca this would have been if it weren`t for the pesky specter of death looming. Haggling and bartering and nitpicking would have been like a spectator sport as trash is passed onto others as new found treasures. But we are forced to simply disregard financial gain and simply tidy up our spaces and amputate the dead cells of commerce. It`s a beautiful thing. I have traveled and lived in two countries with only one suitcase and a guitar in tow. I looked and definitely acted the woefully simple nomad and I am the better for it. Simplified and minimalist living (think Kondo) has become trendy and despite this moniker, I embrace it and pass the message along. Hopefully you will come out of this misadventure unscathed and with new found vigor for true existence. If not, stay inside and think some more on it. Really, don`t leave until this makes sense! Or I will use my up-cycled broomstick and whack you a new one!
