I have never sought out the kindred spirits of animals to bear their companionship and enlivening friendship to my passage in time. However, it seems inevitable that they seek me out in the farthest corners of the Earth regardless and I have welcomed their folly in me with retribution of the kind nature. Canines and felines have darkened my doorsteps with their smudgy little paws and despite wreaking havoc on less than finely appointed apartment clutter, I laugh at their comedy and silent criticism and delve on their nuanced personalities as some comical tirade on my very nature. The Eyptian goddess Bast (aka Cat goddess) has once again unfurled her claw like tendrils and adorned my purview with a kindle of felines barely out of diapers, but possessing the natural arsenal of teeth and Wolverine-ish talons to terrify any scratch resistant surface. The mother is wary and free with her hisses, but takes amply from my pantry offerings. Two younglings have been genderized and I name them Persephone (Greek goddess of the Underworld where shade is ample) and Ra (Egyptian sun god). The third has been to wily and elusive to pinpoint, but the scrumptious chicken I dish out should weaken his resolve. To cats and their spirit guide for lending them once more to a life well lived.
