R & B Jams – 7/30/2020

We often take for granted the things given to us without consequences to their meaning or their impact on our lives in the now or the future.  It is only until we check for their presence and find them lacking that we ponder their importance and perhaps feel deep sorrow for their disappearance.  It is too easy to glide through time without any notions of the significant elements of our lives until they are decisively absent from our purview.  Guilt and regret often accompany these moments and we are all harassed by them at one point or another.  It is such a poignant part of the lives we live yet it seems we barely recognize them despite the fact that this has been going on for the entirety of humanity.  Some are more acute to these rationales while most of us remain oblivious.  Perhaps it`s just an inherent gene in our makeup and our advanced sense of wisdom and knowledge above other sentient beings precludes us from the very nature of things. I am more mindful these days and perhaps the precursor to a setting sun of life brings forth such urgency.  Now more than ever, I feel and view things differently and despite the ambivalence of many, I choose to recognize what`s before me and take care of their importance.
