There is a disturbance in the harmonics of the universe and even mighty Yoda would be perturbed by its wallowing cry. Each of us seeks some level of meaning, an iota of relevance to the vastness and emptiness of the world we know. Yes, we are surrounded by countless beings both sentient and benign yet it is utterly acceptable that we feel alone and distant. Many of us turn to the obvious for pleasure and significance and we drive ourselves into oblivion in its endless pursuits. Our senses are bombarded with messages that feign guidance and images that denote falsehoods for we know well how to manipulate each other for our own gains. Fault does not lie in the madness to strive for joys for our own knowledge of our mortal selves finds little else to turn to. We both accept and envy our neighbors and we are made to feel small by the grandeur of those that exist in the ethos of celebrity and broadcast auras. The hard decision is to turn away from such treacherous avatars and make peace with our own choices.
