Tasty Joints – 6/18/2022

Not long ago, in a downtrodden hole in the wall in a Milky Way galaxy, close, close to us……there lived a parody of flavors that were unidentifiable to a novice palate and a squeamish soul. A potpourri of a broken down jigsaw puzzle of flesh lay before you in a parade of textures and gore. Only nimbly placed placards with haphazard handwriting and indecipherable pricing gave light to the origins and the context of the tidbits to be had. Raised eyebrows of suspicion and gaping maws of disbelief were a common facial mask among the untried and more than a few blemished with rotating colors as the knowledge began to dawn on their fleeting appetites. We were in a wonderland that even Alice would blanch at and despite wording to consume it, she would probably put the bottle down and walk away despite the heavy acid trip she was experiencing. Culinary excursions that bordered on `I dare you to eat it` feats were common in Asia and was giddy with anticipation at every nook and cranny of an establishment that offered up coffers of delightful delicacies that could sit in for crime scene photos. It was a world worth investigating and I chose to stay for a decade or two for a Machiavellian tour of the unknown.
