The memory can be a treacherous power, a reliable friend or a wily trickster that wreaks havoc on your mind. It can stretch back to the earliest moments of childhood with vivid enunciations only made dim with the harsh hammer of time. It can plague your thoughts with guilt and regret as it replays your foolhardy and callous actions without filter. Like a thick blanket in winter, it can warm your heart with anecdotes of nostalgia as if someone was reading you your favorite bedtime story. And it can drive you mad with sickening realization that your able companion of thought was planning to depart only leaving partial letters of recognition that dissolve into a blurry mist. Most of us have gone through the cycles of remembrance by making footnotes in our head from our experiences and as technology became affordable, cameras. The advancement of these devices and their ubiquitous nature have allowed universal freedom to click away to our heart`s content, but they have also forced many to forego the experience in lieu of taking as many pics/video as possible as the action goes on before us. The art of memory creation has been lost.
