Densha Jams – 11/15/2020

An earnest wail accompanied by a bubbling gurgle rise in ornate octaves from the recesses of my protruding belly. Although an ample feast had been celebrated not two hours hence, the urgent and beckoning calls for continued satiation are drowning out any sense of frugal indulgence. I meander through the quiet spaces where a modern forager holds his bounty and cast a furtive glance at the sheer variety of sustenance before me. My palate had dabbled and danced with nearly all the relevant partners in attendance and despite their seductive glares, I forego their pleas and turn away with guilt and threadbare willpower. A river of coffee had already flowed through me and the lurid gestures from the bouquet of chocolates were having an incendiary effect on my nerves. A full agenda of antagonizing my muscles was a mere hour away yet the desire to engage in such fitness remains elusive. I peek at a mirror with the lights set to admonishment and I cringe at its reply. Even the endless tidal wave of entertainment choices has become a burden as videos and music has devolved into a massive heap of melted joy. I need a journey. I need to fight life`s inertia and hurl my body into the traveling abyss.
