Densha Jams – 12/8/2020

For nearly 25 years, I joined the ranks of the `densha` community to traverse the underbellies of New York, Seoul and Tokyo.  But alas, I am now in the concrete barrens of a desert oasis and am relegated to driving again.  Now, I love driving, but the beauty, simplicity and daily source of commentary of the human condition that the train provided with uncontrollable relish, escapes me now.  The rough voice of metal wheels gripping the lithe tracks, the huddled focus on personal devices dictating the posturing of each passenger, the lingering smell of Onigiri dancing with the soft munching chews of the hungry and the almost haunting silence of courteous riders….these are some of my favorite things.

But for those of you still surfing the concourse of iron and feeling the crunch of the masses, we offer you our love and this fine album from our Densha series.  Tune in so you can tune out.
