Gilbert Groove – 11/4/2021

As the normal expectations of the economy and the jangling of coin in your pocket become somewhat blurred and frightening, we find many people form all walks of life resorting to remedies to fix what ails them. There are seniors walking in the shoes of teen pizza delivery boys. There are families waiting in lines to get a box of groceries to balance the deficit in their lives. I find myself answering online surveys for a few sheckles to burn through a few hours of the day. Vasts harvests of food are wasting away on the Earthen floors for there is no one to pick them and no one able to pay for them. Children once fed by government subsidies in school go hungry. The elderly that are not so self sufficient any more find it morbid and mortifying to ask for help. And the anointed leaders stand by in reckless self promotion and continued denial as they push the pandemic forward. It is the best of times. It is the worst of times. Words have never been louder.

Reach out to your friends and neighbors and offer a hand of hope and compassion. Ride around town with the music of Gilbert Groove blaring and ask if any one needs a helping heart. We all need to contribute for one and all. We need a modern day Robin Hood.
