Ode to toilet paper….where for art thou? Once you filled the concrete mecca of merchandise to heights that reached the rafters till we swooned in awe. Your velvety touch and your more crude and coarse cousins filled the emptiness with promises of cleanliness and bowel movement closure. Domestic animals of all sizes could prove to be cruel as they molested your home, tearing you to pieces or simply casting you into the abyss of the random hallways. You provided comfort with your omnipresence even when we you were forsaken to the darkened cabinets of storage only to rise like a wood pulp Phoenix to answer the call of nature and ungodly spicy nachos. You were a master of disguises revealing yourself in so many varieties and shapes and confusing brands, but we knew who you were and what you were meant for. Now as you and your brethren are kidnapped by cynical, end-of-world hoarders, we grieve your departure and ask ourselves, when will the next coming show itself once more. Forgive us our sins and reveal yourself once more to the masses of unwiped sinners. We promise to cherish you and respect your importance to all that is good in this green Earth. Forgive us!
