Gilbert Groove – 6/30/2022

Deep echoing and resonating groans are escaping from my pantry and despite filling the beast with all the edibles I can muster, it howls with aggression and criticizes my lack of vision. It has somehow managed to illicit the aid of the refrigerator as they exchange inventory lists and create a `Keeping up with the Joneses` mentality with bitter rants of expiration dates and grams of saturated fat. In a blinding display of dexterity far exceeding inanimate kitchen appliances and works of carpentry, perishables are expelled at exceptional speeds and it takes nearly all my willpower not to consume the delicious morsels as they take flight. I make vain attempts to keep the scrumptious conflict at bay by whipping up dishes that would be considered trend setting fusion yet are merely a collision of nonsensical lolapaloozas of whatever is at hand and looks like they are at death`s door. Gone are the days where one could jet set to the nearest food blizzard of modern groceries and harvest a meal from sheer intuition. Given the state of affairs, it has become like foraging as the cavemen did where you can at any moment perish from unseen and unknown dangers lurking at every crevice and convenient store corner. My kingdom, my kingdom for a farmer`s market without a virus assassination posted at the door!
