Gilbert Groove – 7/21/2021

I truly do commiserate with the younger people of today given the bypassed moments of their nascent adulthood and markers of their life that we took for granted in our shadowy youth. I`m not overly nostalgic about such events as prom or walking during graduation, but rather the festivities and shared camaraderie that surrounded those pinnacle tags in our timeline of recollection. I feel more empathy for those that had expectations of travels or other namesake adventures that are being put on hold or even worse, may not share the same kinetic motions as we endured in our time. Walking around a college campus and getting into mischief or simply being an idiot for a time as you find independence and self reliance. And there is the flip side spectrum of impending retirees that may have to thwart their plans or adjust to a new reality in the autumn of their lives. I feel rather fortunate given that I`m at a crossroads smack dab in the middle of my mortal tenure on this good green Earth. I feel rather smitten in my isolationism and look forward to adding to my resume of bad decisions and glorious ineptitude that guided me so well till now. I sit idly punching away at my keyboard in between scraping bites of all that is edible pondering the past and envisioning what I can do before my body decides to go kaput.

Keep your head up folks for despite the dumbfounding antics of some and scary tally bellowing on the screen, it will pass. Keep tuning in to our Gilbert Groove tracks for some brightness in your day and plan for the days to come.
