Gilbert Groove – 9/5/2021

The case of the missing felines – lo` did I shower the little munchkins with shreds of moist, delicious chicken until their appetites grew dim and their stomachs grew bright with appeasement. Lo` did I provide mounds of chicken broth infused kibble to provide them with second breakfast so their hungry little eyes never wandered far. Lo` did I speak softly with words of encouragement and basked them in showers of mumbled human speak to coddle their suspicions. A cardboard box condominium did I construct in the wake of sparse shelter to shield them from the incessant beat of the sun. Fountains of cooled water did fill their bowls till overflowing so their tongues knew not what drought meant. Names I bestowed upon them that gave light to their bearing and distinguished them from the lowly peers of the neighborhood. Yet they have vanished into the parched night with nary a sign of their exodus. They hide from our sight and affections and leave no note of their intentions. A flurry of emotions fills the passing hours and we spit venom at our attachments. Oh where could they be o` goddess of the animals?

Trust in them to return to our good hearth and provide solace to our fears. I shall listen to this Gilbert Groove track as I gaze into the horizon for silhouettes of claw and fur.
