SWOOP! – 9/19/2020

Myths and legends were once the foundation of humanity before organized religion decimated its ranks and vilified their message. They gave sovereignty to the ideals and visceral emotions of the world and the vast mysteries illuminated every day by our pondering gazes. The fear of the unknown was equalized by the mystic understanding and experiences of nature and all its power. Rituals and ceremonies celebrated these known truths and we came of age through their trials and revelations of life and death. Rather secular in nature, there was a common theme among the many tribes that inhabited the lands unbeknownst to the other`s existence. Now we are separated with violence, rigid exclusions and the hatred that festers from insular sects of one god to the next (even though they are the same god). The crusades of the old age that pitted people against each other simply for the greed and ego of their glorified deities are still alive today and unfortunately, thriving. If we simply looked inward and sought truth within ourselves rather than rely on some outdated beliefs, it may truly be a different world.
