The Shuzz – 7/31/2020

I have experienced the worst case of `dine & dash` ever and this is coming from someone who managed restaurants in two countries where this incident occurs with curious frustration.  But in this case, the culprits come with a warning label attached and buyer beware memes screaming from the rooftops.  As I mentioned before, I have been a caretaker of wild felines in Japan and recently, in the desert landscape of Arizona.  It takes patience and an affection for these nomadic creatures to truly bond or rather just make the time to offer a small respite in their every day lives to survive.  It is when they first offer their small paws in appreciation that your efforts pay off and often with little resistance, you accept them into your fragile and cold heart.  After what appeared to be a kinship in the making, they vanished.  Perhaps finding better lodging and a more delicious buffet offering somewhere else.  But that is their nature and if you are not insulated from their odd behavior, tears will flow.

The soft patter of furred feet echo in the distance of memory.  The longing purr and endemic meows make brazen statements of affection known only to its recipient.  Intense gazes and gawking stares show wisdom and curiosity.  A plate of feed brightens their demeanor and they gorge until satiated.  Then they linger off to their place of rest, not to be seen until the ritual begins anew.  How I miss them.  I find solace in the Shuzz.
