Tokyo Myo͞ozik – 4/10/2021

The foggy delirium of dreamy slumber was cumbersome to shake. Glaring streaks of light peeked through the blinds to illuminate my sparsely decorated room. Shattered images of the cinema in my mind that sparkled with detail as I slept were diminished to chaotically woven pictures of a heavily worn video cassette. After minutes of blankly staring into the abyss of my ivory colored ceiling, I began to shed the weariness and realize it was another day into the unknown. Though a welcome respite from the drudgery of uninterrupted life, it was bitterly flavored by the tragedies unfolding everywhere. The media serves up platters of sustenance for the mind, but there is a deep rot in the ingredients and a frivolous disdain by those who prepare it. A reckoning of disproportionate immensity can be heard in the distance and we can stand idly by with wretched expectations or take heed and seek solidarity with those around you with shared fear in their hearts.
