True Joints – 6/12/2020

The treble voices arched in poignant verses lashing out in outrage and despair coupled with the calamity of emotions erupting from the far corners of our world gave a rapturous shine to the polish of unity. A ripple of awakened consciousness to the rot of our society announced itself and it fell on shocked ears and gave pause to those in the know. Through acts of violence and repeat offenses, the dark specter of history cast its long shadow again for us to embrace and fearful as it may be, we must take up the mantle of change and write another chapter in the ragged hypocrisy of our nation. And even as the bipartisan choices of death linger in the background gleefully picking off pedestrian souls in the wake of our own stupidity and desires to act, we trudge on, defiant and morbidly shaken. The year continues to challenge our notion of normalcy and perhaps it takes such destructive forces to throttle our sense of morality and disregard for our surroundings to hasten our minds and let positive progress unfold.
