True Joints – 9/22/2022

I am mystified by the concept of time – its wondrous absence of meaning when we are in the throes of youthful endeavors, the agonizing lack of it when new levels of responsibilities beleaguer us as collegiate morons and nascent worker bees, its unwelcome visits as the creaks and pains awaken in our bodies as we engage in activities that were once without regret and the visible reckonings of age as we cast a furtive glance at the stranger in the mirror. Children abound with their incessant noise and revelry and remind us of our past. Dignified and creaky elders with their words of wisdom and sarcastic rebukes tell a tale of our future. My ass is parked in the middle of these two worlds and I wander between the two distinct timelines and stare off into the distance as to my relevance to it all. I don`t desire things or regret experiences that come with middle age. Obviously, I have more to look forward to than to pander in the history of my memories. The clock ticks onward and offers no thoughts on the matter…..yet. Health does really constitute the most important aspect at this point for it will determine whether you are still frolicking amid the world`s playground or finding a new seat cushion for the mobile armchair that you are tied to from lack of play. Keep it real folks and keep moving!
