Monterey Mix – 1/14/2022

I mark off the passing days with a frown and a blue marker. The ceaseless drone of monotonous news, the calls of rationality met with coughing skepticism and the hard earned coin leaking from my pockets seem to an incessant dream where you want to wake. An endless loop of awareness flickers in front of my consciousness and a pool of numbness dribbles down my chin as I gaze into the emptiness. But there are those that need my attention and like a good little shepherd, I tend to the little tasks that sustain life and offer a sense of being.

For all those that face the day with more responsibility than one can fathom for the sake of your loved ones, be strong, you are not alone.
