Monterey Mix – 5/3/2020

There are monsters walking among us with their honey dripped charms and facetious malcontent. Their shape shifting mastery keeps them in perpetuity and we are forced to do battle with their inexhaustible malice. From the mundane trivialities to the more sinister reckonings across all walks of life, we must deal with their onslaught until all strength has been sapped or all lust for living dies quietly from neglect. Each of us faces these madcap demons in our own way – some with learned finesse while others muddle through with the aid of euphoric rhapsodies in their many delectable forms. For me, the reflected stranger that glares at me every morning speaks sparsely, but there is venom in his puffy eyes and the pop up bubbles of terse language that berate me to decipher the semantics screaming at me in silence. I know not what it wants and it gleefully rants at my daily predicament. Purpose is so blasé. Ambition a false narrative to suppress one`s true self. Success a double edged sword. Happiness like an endless maze with no beginning nor an end. My light bulb of creation and bright ideas has gone dim and needs replacing. But the hardware store of life is closed and my Amazon Prime has expired. What will put a flame to my intrepid arse?
