Monterey Mix – 9/26/2021

The aging process can be a tenuous experience with most of us identifying with the physical limitations and gravity weary elements of our bodies. The road weary face staring back at you from the mirror and the indemnifying features of time can cast a shadow on your outlook. We look to miracle cures and supplements to defy the touch of years. We change our diets to resemble agrarian fanatics and shun the deliciousness of our youthful cravings. Some may attire themselves with clothing and accessories better suited to the vitriol of generational appraisal. There are many things we can muster to our arsenal to fend off the inevitable and certainly, healthy choices make for a better quality of life. A longer life does not outweigh a life less burdened by prescription meds and physical aids. The joy of numerical increases in my lifespan are defined by the priorities that are unfolding before me. Gone are the miscellaneous and trivial pursuits of self praise and prideful adornments of envy. Gone are the shallow relationships and the disposable friendships that held no true bearing to my misguided views. I take in things with more consideration and thoughtfulness and appreciate the little things with more vigor. So take a gander at yourself and the world at large. It will be a better piece of scenery than the last time around.
